Am I permitted to have a bonfire in the City of Tallmadge?
Bonfires are permitted only for the cooking of food unless approved by the Environmental Protection Agency – Air Quality Management Division.

You may burn only untreated cut wood (like the wood used in your indoor fireplace); do not burn yard waste. Fire size must correspond with the size of the food being cooked. If the smoke from your fire becomes a problem for your neighbors, the Tallmadge Police Department may be called out and you may be asked to extinguish it.

To obtain the approval of the Environmental Protection Agency – Air Quality Management Division, please contact them by phone at 330-375-2480.
