The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic continues to globally impact the way public safety officials respond to the needs of citizens. Due to the broad scope of the pandemic, traditional suppliers of personal protective equipment (PPE) are unable to fulfill the large volume of requests that are needed to answer calls and protect the health and safety of the first responders. As the pandemic continues and current supplies are stretched thin, the need for PPE grows increasingly important to obtain. The Tallmadge Fire Department and Tallmadge Police Department ask local businesses and the general public for any donations of PPE, which may be readily available, to better serve the community in a time of public health emergency.
Tallmadge Safety Forces are in need of:
N95 masks, surgical masks, or other dust/procedure masks
Disposable surgical gowns
Barrier coveralls (Tyvek suits)
The greatest need is for the N95 masks, surgical masks or any dust/procedural masks. Current recommendations require police officers and firefighters to wear a mask during each interaction with the public. Though Tallmadge Safety Forces currently have less than two weeks supply available within the stations.
If you have any items available and are willing to donate, please call the Tallmadge Dispatch at 330-633-2181 to arrange a drop-off.
From all of the Tallmadge Public Safety Forces: Thank you for your support!
