Fire Department

Fire Chief Michael G. Passarelli manages the Tallmadge Fire Department. The division of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provide fire prevention, community outreach services and emergency response to the citizens of Tallmadge. 

Staffing


The Fire Department and EMS squads consist of 14 full-time and 45 part-time firefighters and paramedics.

Special Operations Response Team


The Tallmadge Fire Department is an active participant in the Summit County Special Operations Response Team (SORT).

SORT Teams include:
  • Hazardous Materials Response Team
  • Technical Rescue Operations Team (trench rescue, confined space, structural collapse and high angle)
  • Water Rescue Team

The department is also responsible for administering the city's Mass Notification System which sends out weather warnings via voice call to all of its subscribers.
